Is the bypass on the Marshall Haze 40 a true bypass, or does it just shut off the digital effects.?

I'm looking into buying a Marshall Haze 40 combo which would be my first tube amp. I'm looking for a good clean sound, but also a ability to have a lot of really nice classic rock and blues sounds. The only thing that has put me off about this amp is the digital effects. Its claimed by many sources to have "True Bypass" but is this actually a bypass where the signal is transferred on a separate path, or does it still flow through the digital portion? Any help on how this bypass system works would be greatly appreciated.
