Were detailed & unusual mythology questions criminalised on this site long ago?

Not criminalized no. But there are a lot of people here who have very strong opinions. Mythology and Folklore is one category where a lot of "editing" goes on and where some magical creatures we can only call fairies will mysteriously visit a question and give thumbs down to every single answer (which also goes on in Comics and Animation). If the question is difficult for some (or even most) that very often (but by no means always) exposes the asker to insults and sarcastic responses. The truth is this place is like most of the Web -- they just locked the Wikipedia page on Paul Revere who was a famous and well documented resident of the metropolitan area just north of here because of an edit war Sarah Palin innocently inspired. I found out about the death of one of my favorite SF writers -- Andre Norton -- because of an edit war going on on her wikipedia page (within two hours of her death). This is a fun and educational place if you have a thick skin.
