What do these events mean?

Yesterday I was running up a hill and I was inches from stepping on a snake before I jumped back and then today right outside my house I saw another. Is there any superstitions or folklore related to this? Just curious. It's just wierd because those are the first two snakes I've seen in years and they were both consecutive days.
