No you do not need permission to write these things. If you wrote a book about one of these things, it would be called a fan fiction. Fan fictions are really common pieces of writing. There are entire websites devoted to fan fiction such as www.FanFiction.net. However, if you wanted to publish these works for commercial use, you would need permission. You could always mail the publishing company of the book.
